STATEMENT
환각 Hallucination - 독조(獨釣)
『환각의 정의는 지각되는 실체적 대상이 존재하지 않는 심적 현상이자, 실재하는 것처럼 지각되는 표상을 가지는 것을 말한다. 다른 의미로 “일어나는 현상세계에서의 대상을 보여지는 대상으로 결정지으려는 심리적 요소, 보이지 않는 현상의 예고되어있지 않은 상태에 대한 불안적 요소를 지우려는 심리적 상태 사이의 갈등” 등을 말한다. 』
이러한 환각은 실상과 가상 사이 본질에 대한 물음, 자기와 외부세계 사이의 교차점, 갈등, 접촉, 간격, 불안, 거부 등에 자기화된 현상이 일어나고 그 모호한 경계선상안에서 탐색이 이루어진다.
<한강독조(寒江獨釣)>는 “차가운 강가에서 홀로 낚시하는 것”을 말하는 것으로 무욕(無慾)의 경지를 보여주고자 하였으며, 자연의 절대적 경지와 인간의 존재에 대한 세계관을 자연을 통해 얻고자 함을 말하고 있다. 삼국(三國)의 오랜 회화양식 속에 자리잡은 한강독조는 현대적 해석으로써의 추상성위에 새롭게 표현되고 실험적 과정을 통해 자연과 인간의 승화된 세계로 재창조해 보고자하고 있다. 당(唐)의 유종원(柳宗元)의 시(詩) <강설(江雪)>은
“산이란 산에는 새 한 마리 날지 않고(千山鳥飛絶)
길이란 길에는 사람 자취 끊어졌네(萬徑人蹤滅)
외로운 배 위의 도롱이 입은 늙은이(孤舟蓑笠翁)
눈 내리는 강에서 홀로 낚시질을 하네.(獨釣寒江雪)“
눈 내린 강과 차가운 한기(寒氣)가득한 장소에서 홀로 자연과 일체된 상태는 물아일체(物我一體)와 무위자연(無爲自然), 그리고 아(我)도 물(物)도 없는 세계를 만나고 경험하게 될 것이다.
Hallucination-Sole Fishing in a Cold River
『Hallucination is defined as a mental phenomenon which has no perceived tangible object existed, and as having a representation perceived as if it actually exists. In other words, it means “a psychological factor that determines objects in this rising world of phenomena as objects to be seen, or a conflict between psychological states to remove unstable factors from unforeseeable circumstances not to be seen.』
The hallucination casts a question about the intrinsic qualities of reality and pseudo-images, causes to trigger egoistic phenomenon of intersection, strife, contact, interval, anxiety and refusal between self and the outer world, inspiring us to quest for something within the boundary of ambiguity.
<Hangang Dokjo>, means Sole Fishing in a Cold River to describe the level of freedom from avarice, and further quest for absolute level of nature and human existence attained through nature. Hangang Dokjo placed at the center of old painting mode in the period of the Three States, is expressed in a novel way based on the modern construction of the abstractness to recreate as sublimated world of nature and human beings through experiments.
Tang's Yoo Jong Won recites in his poem 'Snowfall on the River' as follows,
"Not a bird flies in any mountain
Not a man is seen on any road
A lonely old man in a straw raincoat on the boat
Is fishing alone on the snowy river"
On the snowy river filled with chilly air, a lonely man experiences in oneness with nature, as the external objects and self are united into one, leaving nature as it is; ultimately the old man encounters with the world where there is neither external objects nor self.
